SEO content for auto repair shops

Quick summary: SEO content for auto repair shops means writing the pages drivers look for before they call: one page per service, pages for the makes you specialize in, honest cost and symptom answers, and pages for nearby towns. Each page is drafted with AI help, edited and fact-checked by a person, built on details from your own bays, and approved by you before it goes live.

Which page types does a repair shop need?

A shop needs four: service pages, area pages, FAQ blocks and rewrites. Here is one repair example of each.

Page typeWhat it isRepair shop example
Service pageOne page per job, 800 to 1,000 words"Timing belt replacement": which engines have a belt, what is replaced with it, how long the car stays
Area pageA shorter page for a nearby townThe next town over: drive time, early drop-off, shuttle range, jobs done for customers there
FAQ blockShort answers marked up with FAQ schema"Can I wait while you do an alignment?" answered in one sentence on the alignment page
RewriteAn existing page rebuilt on the same URLA "services" page that lists 20 jobs, split so brakes, AC and diagnostics each get a real page

Repair shops also get two page types most trades do not: make pages ("Subaru repair") and symptom pages ("car shakes when braking"). Both are service pages written from a different starting point.

What does the shop have to supply?

About ten minutes of input per page, from the people who do the work. This is the part no competitor can copy.

  • Recent jobs. Three or four real repairs for the page's topic: the car, the complaint, what you found. No customer names or plates.
  • The questions the counter hears. "Do I need rotors too?" "Can I drive it like this?" These become the FAQ block.
  • Your process. How diagnosis is charged, when you call for approval, how long the job usually keeps the car.
  • Credentials. Technician certifications, program memberships and your parts and labor warranty terms, exactly as written on your paperwork.
  • Photos. The bays, the equipment, a worn part next to a new one. Real photos beat stock photos of a smiling mechanic.
  • Price facts you are willing to publish. A range and what changes it. If you would rather not publish prices, the page explains what drives the cost.

How are pages reviewed and approved?

Every page goes through three checks before it is published.

  1. AI-assisted draft. Research, outline and first draft, built on your input.
  2. Human edit and fact-check. An editor checks service intervals, part names and claims against your notes and against the manufacturer's schedule where a page cites one. The title tag, meta description, internal links and schema are added here.
  3. Your approval. A technician or service advisor reads the page. Nothing goes live until the shop signs off.

Approval is where three repair-specific risks get caught. Prices have to read as ranges, because estimate and authorization rules are set by state law. Warranty wording has to match your printed terms. Inspection claims have to match what your state program authorizes your shop to do. The SEO page lists the rules we check.

What gets a repair page ignored?

Four things get a page ignored by Google and by AI tools.

  • Make-swapped and town-swapped pages. Twenty pages that change "Honda" to "Ford" or one town to the next read as one page. Google picks a version and drops the rest.
  • Thin pages. "We offer brake repair. Call today." gives a search engine nothing to rank and a driver nothing to trust.
  • Unsupported claims. "Best mechanic in town", "lowest prices" and "dealer-quality" with no proof. State what you can show: certifications, warranty length, years at the address.
  • Parts-catalog copy. Text pasted from a supplier's description appears on hundreds of shop sites already.

How is content sold?

Content is not sold on its own. It comes three ways:

  • With the AEO | GEO bundle, which includes two content pieces a month alongside the Local SEO program and GBP management
  • With the full agency stack, which sets a higher volume
  • Case by case, once a strategy is in place

The Local SEO program by itself includes service and area page recommendations, not page writing. Steady gains from SEO content take 3 to 6 months. Details are on the SEO content service page and the packages page.

For the structure of an area page, use our service area page template. Related auto repair pages: local SEO for the map, AEO | GEO for AI answers, and the auto repair hub.

Questions about content for repair shops

How many pages does a repair shop site need?

It needs one page for each service line you want to rank for, plus the makes you specialize in. The pages are built over several months, starting with the jobs you want most.

Should each car make get its own page?

Only the makes you see every week. A page needs models, common repairs and your tools or training for that make, and a page without those details will not rank.

Do cost pages have to show exact prices?

No. A range with the factors that change it answers the search. Exact prices belong on a written estimate, which state law governs.

Who writes the pages, and is AI used?

AI helps with research and the first draft. A person edits and fact-checks each page, and someone at your shop approves it before it publishes.

Can I buy a few pages without a monthly program?

Not as a standalone order. Content comes with the AEO | GEO bundle or the full agency stack, or is added case by case once a strategy is in place.

Do blog posts about car care help a shop?

They help when the question has search demand and leads toward a service you sell. Service and make pages come first because they bring in calls.
