Quick summary: Seattle has few dealers inside the city, and they sit at its edges: SoDo in the south, and Lake City Way and Aurora Avenue in the far north. That leaves the middle of the city open on the map, and it sends "Seattle" searches to stores in Bothell, Renton and Bellevue. Galli Local is based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and works with Seattle dealers remotely.
Franchised stores used to sit downtown and on Capitol Hill. KUOW reported in February 2014 that they were moving south to SoDo, off Airport Way, because downtown land had become too costly and SoDo had highway access and room to build up. In March 2018 the same station reported that zoning changes on Aurora Avenue North were phasing out car businesses in favor of housing.
The addresses Google returned were on Airport Way South, Lake City Way Northeast, Aurora Avenue North and Elliott Avenue West. None was in the center of the city. A buyer on Capitol Hill or in Wallingford is several miles from every dealer, so no store wins that searcher on distance alone.
We ran three searches on October 6, 2026, signed out. Google placed the searcher in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, so these are results for someone searching from outside the city.
A lot with 101 reviews held a spot beside one with about 3,100, and a store outside the city showed for a "Seattle" search in two of three.
Ahrefs shows "used cars seattle" at about 1,300 searches a month in the United States, with a difficulty score of 4 out of 100. "Honda dealer seattle" gets about 300, and "seattle car dealerships", "ford dealer seattle" and "subaru dealer seattle" get about 150, 150 and 100. "Toyota dealer seattle" gets about 60.
The used term is more than eight times the size of the general dealership term and far easier. Suburbs carry real volume too: "used cars lynnwood" gets about 200, "used cars everett" about 150 and "used cars bellevue" about 100.
Water splits this metro. The Eastside cities sit across Lake Washington, and buyers there search by their own city name.
A north Seattle store should write for Shoreline (58,608) and Lynnwood. A SoDo store should write for West Seattle, Beacon Hill and Burien. Rules on price ads and the documentary fee line are on the Washington State car dealership page.

Not a fit:
The method is on the national local SEO for car dealerships page, and the other services are on the car dealership hub. Wider city context is on the Seattle page. See also Tacoma and Spokane.
Because few dealers sit inside Seattle, Google fills "Seattle" results with nearby stores that have strong profiles.
Not on the map. Downtown, Lake Union and the Ship Canal sit between SoDo and Lake City Way. Use website pages for north-end searches and aim the profile at the south half.
Yes. It gets about 1,300 searches a month in the United States and Ahrefs rates it 4 out of 100 for difficulty, which is low for a term that size.
Yes, within Google's rules. Google's guidelines allow separate profiles for sales, service and parts departments that operate distinctly, and one per brand for new-car dealers.
First map grid movement usually shows in 1 to 3 weeks, and top 3 positions on competitive terms take 30 to 90 days. Results vary by store.
