Quick summary: Dental SEO in Washington State follows a rule on how dentists are described. A general dentist may provide specialty services but may not advertise as a specialist, and since July 2022 a group practice must identify each dentist as one or the other. Galli Local is based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and works with Washington businesses remotely. The general method is on our dental SEO page.
Local SEO for dental practices in Washington is four jobs done every month: managing the Google Business Profile, earning and answering reviews, cleaning up citations and directory listings, and tracking rank on a map grid. In Washington, this page adds the local detail: the rule that group practices label each dentist a general dentist or specialist, banned title words, and practice ownership. The method itself, including categories, review rules and the directories that matter, is on our local SEO for dental practices page. The Local SEO program starts at $850/mo per location and needs a verified profile at a real address, at least 10 reviews and a 3.5-star or better rating.
The specialty rule is in the Washington Administrative Code. The general ban on misleading advertising and the ownership rule are in statute.
Label every dentist on the team page. For a practice with two or more dentists, add "General dentist" or the specialty after each name. It is a one-line change that most group sites have not made.
"Expert" is on the list. The rule names "expert" alongside "specialist". Phrases such as "implant experts" or "Invisalign experts" on a general practice site fall inside it. Describe training and case counts instead.
Services are fine. Titles are the problem. A general dentist can have a full page on root canals or braces. The page should present the service and name the dentist as a general dentist.
Review replies. In December 2022 the federal Office for Civil Rights announced a $23,000 settlement with a California dental practice over patient details in replies to Yelp reviews. A reply must never confirm that the reviewer is a patient.
This is a summary, not legal advice. Read the current rule before you publish.
"Dentist seattle" gets about 1,200 searches a month in the United States, "dentist spokane" about 800, and "dentist tacoma" about 500. Ahrefs rates them 65, 53, and 57 out of 100 for difficulty.
The Local SEO program starts at $850/mo per location. It needs a verified Google Business Profile at a real physical address, at least 10 reviews, and a rating of 3.5 stars or better. See the Local SEO services page and the packages page. For the state as a whole, see local SEO in Washington.
These three are national pages. For the wider picture in this market, see SEO services in Washington State.

The rule lists "expert" among the terms that are misleading without the qualifications. Use facts about training instead.
