How do customers find an electrician today?

Three places: the map pack, the standard results under it, and AI answers.

The map pack takes the urgent calls. "Electrician near me" gets about 216,000 searches a month in the United States, and "emergency electrician" gets about 27,000, according to Ahrefs Keywords Explorer, checked October 6, 2026. First Page Sage reports that the first map pack listing takes 14.8% of clicks.

Standard results take the planned jobs. "EV charger installation" gets about 80,000 searches a month and "generator installation" about 31,000, per Ahrefs. These buyers read before they call.

AI answers take the questions. First Page Sage reports that 81.6% of U.S. Google searches show an AI answer. "Why does my breaker keep tripping" gets about 1,500 searches a month, per Ahrefs, and the answer often shows before any website does.

Where should an electrician start?

  • New business. Verify your Google Business Profile at your real address, get your license and insurance details on the site, and ask every customer for a review. The Local SEO program needs a verified profile, at least 10 reviews and a 3.5-star or better rating, so that is your first target.
  • Established, but invisible on the map. Start with local SEO. The program starts at $850/mo per location and tracks your rank across a grid of points, so you see where you show up and where you vanish.
  • Ranking, but calls are the wrong jobs. If the phone rings for outlet swaps and you want panel and generator work, the gap is on your website. Start with SEO and SEO content.
  • Ranking, but missing from AI answers. Read AEO | GEO for electricians.

Common questions from electricians

Which service should an electrician buy first?

Local SEO, in most cases. Urgent electrical calls go to the map pack, and that is the fastest place to gain ground. Site work and content come next, when you want more planned jobs such as panel upgrades and charger installs.

How long before the phone rings more?

First map grid movement shows in 1 to 3 weeks, and top 3 positions on competitive terms take 30 to 90 days. SEO content takes 3 to 6 months for steady gains. No one can promise a ranking, and we do not.

Do you work with electricians outside Pennsylvania?

Yes. Galli Local is based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and the work is done remotely.

Can I buy content on its own?

No. Content comes with the AEO | GEO bundle and the full agency stack, or case by case once a strategy is in place.

Do you handle commercial electrical contractors too?

Yes, with one caveat. A shop that does only large commercial or industrial bid work gets little from the map pack, so its plan leans on the website. "Commercial electrician" gets about 15,000 searches a month in the United States, per Ahrefs, and those services get their own pages.
