It leads to four services: local SEO for the Google map, SEO for the whole website, AEO | GEO for AI answers, and SEO content for the pages patients read before they book.

How do patients find a medical practice today?

Patients find a practice in three places: the map pack, the standard results below it, and the AI answer above both. Which one matters depends on the search.

  • Need-based searches go to the map. "Urgent care near me" gets about 1,540,000 searches a month in the United States, and "primary care doctor near me" gets about 17,000, according to Ahrefs Keywords Explorer.
  • Question searches go to AI answers. "MD vs DO" gets about 24,000 searches a month in the United States and "nurse practitioner vs doctor" about 7,300, per Ahrefs.
  • AI tools do not agree on who to name. In our State College AI study, four AI tools answered 10 local questions and named 83 businesses in total. Of 88 question-and-business pairings, 52 were named by only one tool, and 5 were named by all four.

Where should a medical practice start?

Start with the weakest link between a search and a booked visit.

Practice types, locations and guides

Two practice types have their own pages:

Location pages for medical practices include Pennsylvania, State College, Pittsburgh, New York and Texas.

Two free guides fit a practice well: the review response playbook, since a reply must never confirm that someone is a patient, and the citation audit worksheet for directory cleanup. More are on the resources page.

Common questions about marketing a medical practice

Which service should a medical practice buy first?

Most practices should start with local SEO, because need-based searches such as "urgent care near me" end on the map.

Do you work with dental offices too?

Yes, but dental is a separate industry with its own pages.

Is your marketing work HIPAA compliant?

We plan the work so that no patient information is needed or published. We do not ask for patient lists, review replies never confirm a patient relationship, and your compliance officer approves anything that touches forms, tracking tools or patient stories.

Can content be bought on its own?

No. Content comes with the AEO | GEO bundle and the full agency stack, or is added case by case once a strategy is in place.

Do you guarantee new patients or rankings?

No. Nobody controls Google or the AI tools, so we do not promise a ranking, a number of new patients or an AI mention.
